About Linet Hilsberg
I am a Deaf/Blind artist based on the Bellarine Peninsula. Through my work, I share my perspective, experiences, and connection to the world around me.
My previous work in mental health (and eventual loss of hearing and partial vision) has helped shape my perspective on how I see and what I value in the world.
Art is my new ‘life’ as I have transitioned from one career to the next.
Each piece I create is done with love and care and invites people to pause, look closely, and find their own meaning.
All my work has ‘a little piece of me in it’ and I am so grateful to be able to share it with you.
I use different techniques and mediums including photography, pastel, charcoal, acrylic, ink, mixed media, textured paint, water colours, pouring paint and abstract.
My subjects are varied and my main focus is wildlife/animals and nature in general with the majority of my paintings created from my original photography.
I also offer portraits, (human and animal) as well as paintings taken from your (or mine) photos.
My work has been entered into prestigious art competitions including The Archibald, Glover, Mosman, Ravenswood, Doyles and Kennedy Prize.
I have had three solo exhibitions at the Artisans of Australia where I am an ‘In-house Artist’ and have been involved in multiple community and collaboration exhibitions with other artists.
